ABOUT THE REFRIGERATOR LINER.

We now offer the refrigerator liner as a self installation Kit in a 4 ft. by 8 ft sheet of composite insulation material with a durable white interior Heat Sealing surface material. The liner panel is Tri-folded and shipped to you on UPS. The Heat sealing material is 80 sq ft. and is shipped with the liner panels. What you don't use on the refrig. can be used to build a cover blanket to fit inside the ice box area as a cool blanket pad to cover your food stores and keep the cold in the ice box at a lower level where the food stores are instead of having to cool the unused portion of the box. Three size liners are available, a standard liner (1/2 inch), for small 5cu ft or less boxes, an intermediate 3/4 that can be used in a poorly insulated box or a large box where the cooling system is having problems keeping up. This liner will equate to more than 5 inches of foam insulation, R=25. There is also a Super liner (1.0 inch) for the refrigerator fanatic or for new box construction. The law of diminishing returns kicks in at this point. you will get some added insulating value equivalent to 6 inches of foam. For an equivalent R value of R=30 we calculate one inch of foam = R~5. If you need extra material to do a particular job we prorate the price on additional lengths.

1. The liner is a flexible composite blanket manufactured from insulation materials designed to meet stringent NASA specifications. These insulation materials are the same materials used to insulate the Space Shuttle, the Hubbell Telescope and the Space Station living quarters presently under construction at Marshall Space Flight Center. NASA has conducted extensive testing on these materials and this insulation technology and found that it far exceeds the capabilities of conventional insulation such as foam and fiberglass.

2. The liner is constructed to block heat gain from outside to inside. Additionally the liner keeps energy levels between 0 degrees and 40 degrees inside the box for a more stable temperature. The Insulation liner comes with our special white finished moisture sealing material. After cutting panels out of the insulation liner, the panel is heat sealed into the white material with a house hold iron. The sealed liner panel is easily attachable to your refrig box using a variety of methods such as tape, hook and loop or adhesives. The white inside face provides a clean white interior surface and prevents moisture from transferring heat around the insulation blanket. Should you happen to compromise the liner seals and get water with in the liner, simply remove that liner panel, dis assemble the panel layers, dry the panels in the sun, re assemble the panel, reseal in the sealing material and re-install it. Additional sealing material can be purchased to reseal your liner panel again from us at a very low cost.

5. Heat heat energy is generated by running the diesel, cooking, body heat, direct and indirect sun light, and many other sources. This energy strikes the foam around your refrig, causing it to heat up much like heating a cup of coffee in a microwave. The conducted heat energy caused by this action begins the slow transfer from the warm side of the insulation to the cold side (inside your box). Placing our liner inside the box blocks this heat energy. Any direct solar energy coming in through the cabin top is also blocked. By adding more layers of insulation, not only is the solar heat blocked but convection and conduction is also reduced significantly
